Experience the amazing and majestic landscape of Mikumi National Park. This park was established over 40 years ago and its landscape is likened to the Serengeti on a smaller scale. The park encompasses 3230km making it the 5th largest park in Africa. Lions, leopards, elephants, zebra, impalas and hippos are common in this park. Enjoy the 5- to 6-hour drive from Dar es Salaam city center to Mikumi National Park gate.
ITINERARY
Day 1: Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park
You’ll be picked up at your hotel in Dar es Salaam and drive to Mikumi National Park (5-6 hours drive). You’ll have a hot lunch in Morogoro town then take 30 minutes to drive to the park. You’ll arrive in time for the afternoon and evening game drive. You will be able to see herds of elephants, zebras, impala and giraffes. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at Camp Bastian.
Day 2: Mikumi National Park to Dar es Salaam
After breakfast at the lodge, enjoy a 3-4 hours game drive or visit a small Maasai village with your packed lunches before driving to Dar es Salaam. You’ll arrive in evening.
